Jimmy Koplik was on to talk to the Tribe about their favorite CT concerts, but first we all got to listen to a reporter interview Jimmy about Eddie Van Halen. Jimmy said he felt closer to Eddie than any other member of the band as he got to know them all. (24:49)

Dumb Ass News – AJ sounded like he had something stuck in his throat, so of course the sound byte was played and replayed a whole bunch. (45:13)

Rest In Peace Eddie Van Halen. Eddie passed away on Tuesday at age 65.

Today we look back at when Van Halen, then with new singer Sammy Hagar, came to New Haven (or “New Halen” as they called it) in 1986. Van Halen played back-to-back nights at New Haven Coliseum on their 5150 Tour. You may recall the second show of the two nights at The Coliseum was filmed for their Live Without a Net Video, which you can still buy on Amazon!

Live Nation’s Jimmy Koplik was on the phone to remember Eddie Van Halen. Jimmy booked the band for a total of 19 different shows, and explained the truth behind the infamous brown M&M’s tour rider request. (15:04)

Alex held for over an hour to share his Van Halen memories with Chaz and AJ. Then, Joe Meyers the movie critic was on to talk about Van Halen’s concert movie filmed in New Haven, “Live Without a Net.” (32:10)

Chaz couldn’t find the full interview, so instead he played select sound clips from an interview with Alex Van Halen, and then some isolated vocals from David Lee Roth. (40:09)
