That year PLR welcomed Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band to Hartford’s XL Center. Springsteen kicked off his “Magic Tour” in Hartford, which was his first tour with the E Street Band since 2004. It was one of the biggest tours of the year and it grossed more than $200 million, ranking it second only to Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway Tour.
Bruce was supporting his fifteenth studio album, “Magic,” which was released the week before tour opener in Hartford. The album featured singles Radio Nowhere and Girls in Their Summer Clothes.

99.1 PLR celebrates 50 years! This week we are celebrating another great year in our history: 2007!
That year 99.1 PLR welcomed The Police “Reunion Tour” to Rentschler Field’s outdoor stadium in East Hartford. The Police hit the road in 2007 for their big worldwide reunion tour to mark the 30th anniversary of the band. Unfortunately the reunion didn’t last long as the band broke up (again) the following year and, sadly, still remain apart.
A sellout crowed over 32,000 saw The Police along with special guest Fiction Plane. This would be the final time we’d see The Police perform live in Connecticut.
Today we revisit The Police at “The Rent”…

Chaz talks with Megan Doll, who was on the air for over 20 years with 99.1 PLR. She started out doing traffic for Smith & Barber and Mike Lapitino before becoming a full part of the morning show. She left in 2013 after being a cherished member of Chaz & AJ in the Morning.
Kent Pierce from News 8 was on to share some horrifying information about your coffee machine. Chaz and AJ had him to let the Tribe know how often they should be cleaning those machines, and Ashley realized that she has never cleaned her coffee maker in over five years. (0:00)
John Schneider from The Dukes of Hazzard was on to talk about the injuries he his co-star Tom Wopat endured while getting into the General. Plus, everything he’s been working on recently and where you can catch the debut of his latest project, “One Month Out.” (8:09)
Boss Keith’s Top 5 was about the things he learned in the two weeks since he last saw Chaz and AJ, since they were out on vacation. Turns out, skiing is not his thing, and he really needs help around the house. (20:11)
