That year PLR welcomed Aerosmith to Hartford’s XFINITY Theatre. Aerosmith kicked off its “Just Push Play Tour” in Connecticut to support their thirteenth studio album “Just Push Play,” which featured such songs as Jaded, Fly Away from Here, Sunshine and Just Push Play. Joining them in Hartford was special guest Fuel.

That year PLR welcomed Poison to The XFINITY Theatre. Bret Michaels and crew were headlining the “Glam, Slam, Metal Jam Tour,” which also featured fellow 80’s rockers Warrant, Quiet Riot and Enuff Z’Nuff. Poison had just released their studio album “Power to the People” in June 2000, which marked the return of the band’s original lineup for the first time since 1991 with the return of guitarist C.C. DeVille.

Some viral videos were shared on social media of a WWII era plane, making an emergency landing in the ocean, following trouble at an air show in Florida. Chaz and AJ spoke with Dick Knapinski, the official spokesperson for the Experimental Aircraft Association, who was extremely impressed with the smooth landing, given the circumstances. (0:00)

Dumb Ass News – Polish animal investigators had to investigate, after reports came in from an animal threatening the neighborhood from a tree. It turned out to be a croissant. (14:05)

Jack Sonni was on the phone with Chaz and AJ to share some incredible stories from his career in music. From recording the iconic “Brothers in Arms” album with Dire Straits, to performing at Wembley for Live Aid just before the iconic Queen performance. Jack had incredible details from what it was like to be backstage, with the likes of Brian May, Pete Townshend, and Prince Charles and Lady Diana. (18:15)

Karenna Alexander is a dating expert, and she was on today to offer some simple rules to follow for men making online dating profiles. It was supposed to be simple, anyway. Each and every rule and example Karenna provided, seemed to spark some buried bad experience from Ashley’s past dating life. (33:56)

That year PLR welcomed Ozzy Osbourne to The XL Center (formerly known as the Hartford Civic Center). Ozzy hit the road in the fall and winter of 2001 for a co-headlining tour with Rob Zombie called “Merry Mayhem.”  Ozzy was supporting his eighth studio album “Down to Earth,” which featured such songs as Gets Me Through and Dreamer. In addition to Rob Zombie, joining Ozzy on the “Merry Mayhem” Tour was Mudvayne and Soil.

Gianni Russo, a former mobster who also appeared in The Godfather, was on to talk about mafia nicknames, and everyone on the show took an internet quiz to figure out what their mob call sign would be. (24:39)

Dr. Kilic from Quinnipiac University was on to try and help Chaz and AJ understand cryptocurrency, and how to know when is the right time to buy or invest. It unraveled pretty quickly into a hilarious shouting match between Chaz and the professor. (30:40)

That year PLR welcomed The John Entwistle Band to Toad’s Place. John “The Ox” Entwistle, best known as the bassist and a founding member of The Who, hit the road in 2001 to support his band’s studio album “Music from Van-Pires,” released in 2000. Sadly it would be his final solo album before his death in 2002. His show at Toad’s would also be his final Connecticut show.
