99.1 PLR celebrates 50 years! This week we are celebrating another great year in our history: 2003!

That year PLR welcomed Iron Maiden to Hartford’s XFINITY Theatre. It was their “Give Me Ed… ‘Til I’m Dead Tour” and it was the second night of their United States tour. Special guests Motörhead and Dio opened the show.

That year PLR welcomed Bon Jovi to Mohegan Sun Arena. Bon Jovi hit the road in ’03 to support their eighth studio album “Bounce,” which featured such singles as Everyday, Misunderstood, All About Lovin’ You, The Distance and the title track Bounce.

This would be Bon Jovi’s first of 15 total concerts at Mohegan Sun.
