Dire Straits guitarist Jack Sonni was on to finally share his story about meeting Princess Diana, and while talking about the Farm Aid lineup, remembered having a special dinner with Meg Ryan. (15:12)

Chaz and AJ went to the live feed of the Blue Origin space launch, with Jeff Bezos on board. They were underwhelmed by the announcers. (36:53)

PODCAST – Monday, July 19: The Nearly-Disastrous Engagement Party; MMA Fighter Talks Controversial Fight; Comedian Tim Dillon

Chaz and his wife, Jennifer were at an engagement party this past weekend, and the whole thing was nearly a disaster. The dog went missing, it rained the whole time, and Jennifer almost took herself out trying to open a bottle of Prosecco. (0:00)

This story should serve as a warning to folks visiting other countries. Chaz and AJ had the story from Russia, where a pair of thrill-seekers were caught on camera going over the edge of a cliff when a swing-set failed. (13:18)

MMA fighter Denise Kielholtz was back on this morning to talk about her controversial title fight from Bellator 262, against Juliana Velasquez. Chaz and AJ joined the majority of fans who felt Denise earned the upset victory, even though the judges’ decision didn’t go her way. (26:12)

Dumb Ass News – While listening to AJ’s comments about Popeye and a boxing Olive Oyl, intern Chris was reminded of a viral clip from Family Feud a year ago. There was a big controversy over the clip, because Ashley was convinced she already shared this clip with everyone over a year ago. (41:49)

Comedian Tim Dillon was on this morning to talk about his time in the Hamptons, how he got into cryptocurrency early (and what he saw coming a mile away,) and admitted to wanting to see a person be attacked by a shark in real life. (46:55)

50 Years, 50 Albums 1984: Van Halen ‘1984’

It’s no surprise that Van Halen’s 1984 album came in with the most votes. The Car’s Heartbeat City was a huge album for the band with five singles released from 1984 to 1985 and Bruce’s Born in the U.S.A., cited by rock critics as one of the greatest albums of all time. But it was the 6th album for Van Halen that got the majority of the votes. This album, along with their debut, are their most commercially successful albums, selling 10 million copies…each! By 1984 Van Halen had over five videos on MTV, were headlining most of the major music festivals, and becoming a major stadium band. It’s also the last album with the original line up – David Lee Roth left the band in 1985 (returned in 2012); Michael Anthony was replaced by Wolfgang Van Halen in 2006. Both songs and their videos have become classics, watch “Hot for Teacher”, “Jump” or “Panama” sometime and you’ll see a band at the top of their career which continued until we lost Eddie.
