PODCAST – Monday, December 12: Toy Drive Recap; AJ’s Surprise Party; Scot Haney’s Bucket Truck Experience

Chaz and AJ had a lot of fun Friday, broadcasting live from Jordan’s Furniture in New Haven for the Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive. However, they were so busy with the schedule of events, they didn’t get a chance to listen to some of what was happening. So this morning, they listened back to the K&J Tree Service Bucket Truck ride, and some of the musical performances from the Kathy Thompson Band and NRBQ. (0:00)

The day after the Toy Drive was AJ’s birthday, and Chaz threw a surprise party for him. It was all under the guise of a fund-raising event for the Toy Drive, and completely fooled him despite numerous clues to the real happening. (19:19)

WFSB’s Scot Haney was on with his experience from the bucket truck, and what it was like trying to broadcast live on Channel 3 with Chaz screeching from the bucket right next to him. (36:58)

PODCAST – Thursday, December 8: Remembering John Lennon; News 8’s Alyssa Taglia; Stump The Chumps – Famous Duos

Live Nation’s Jimmy Koplik will always remember today as the day John Lennon was killed. He was on to talk about watching Monday Night Football as the announcement was made to the country. (0:00)

Alyssa Taglia from News 8 was on to tease Chaz, since he’s so anxious about going up in the bucket. She’s rappelled down the Mohegan Sun hotel, so has no problem with heights. Then, Chaz and AJ spoke with Andy from Art’s TV and Appliance about tomorrow’s Toy Drive. (6:02)

Realizing a bit too late that they should have been more specific, the Tribe absolutely dominated Chaz and AJ with their “famous duo” trivia questions for a chance to go see Metallica. (22:15)

While discussing their favorite holiday and Christmas movies, Chaz’s wife, Jennifer sang a little from the Charlie Brown special. (0:00)

Dumb Ass News – Sure, anyone can swallow a sword, the whole trick is doing it without injury. This “professional” sword-swallower really messed up during a show. (10:12)

Scot Haney has agreed to get in the K&J Tree Services bucket truck Friday morning, live from the Toy Drive, and go up 75 feet in the air. Is that OK with all the managers at WFSB? Chaz and AJ spoke with Greg Thomas about the bit, to make sure this is OK to do. (16:41)

A wanted fugitive in Georgia, challenged police to capture him on Facebook. They obliged him. Chaz and AJ had Brian Foley on the phone to lend some additional information, from his years of experience as a police officer. (24:48)

PODCAST – Tuesday, December 6: CT Parking Shame; Movie Tech That Became Real

Not all the tidbits of the holiday season are filled with good cheer. Pat from CT Parking Shame was on to remind people not to park in handicapped spots, or over the painted parking lines during a busy shopping season. AJ, on the other hand, was out for vigilante justice on anyone caught parking incorrectly. (0:00)

The Tribe helped Chaz and AJ put together a rough list of technology from older movies once thought to be fiction, that is now a part of our everyday lives. (10:18)

PODCAST – Monday, December 5: Brandon Steiner On Sports Memorabilia; Connecticut Mom Saves 5 Year Old From Raccoon Attack

Brandon Steiner, the king of sports memorabilia, was on to talk about some items he’s graciously donated to auction to help raise money for the Chaz and AJ Toy Drive. Plus, the Tribe called in their prized items, hoping to get good news on value. (0:00)

A 5-year-old girl was attacked by a raccoon in Ashford, then saved by her mom, as the whole scene was caught on video. (14:08)

After hearing about one raccoon attack, Chaz called his buddy Jean Guy to share his story about the raccoon that busted in through a doggie-door, only to meet a messy end. (20:38)

It’s Chaz’s turn to go in the K&J Tree Services bucket truck. He tried to change the subject, but AJ and Phil would not let him skate on this, especially since the Tribe has been so adamant about it happening. (0:00)

Live Nation’s Jimmy Koplik spent a lot of time talking about Fleetwood Mac this morning, since we all learned about the sudden death of Christine McVie yesterday. Jimmy had a pretty close relationship with the band, and considers Christine the glue that really held the personalities together. The Tribe also called in to share their memories of FWM shows. Deputy Chief with the Stamford Fire Department, Eric Lorenz, was on to share some first-hand details about a recent rescue operation, that involved removing two children from a smoke-filled apartment. (30:15)

Dumb Ass News – A group of teenagers tried to dine-and-dash a $115 bill, but made headlines for driving away with their server clinging to the hood of the car. (16:05)

Dave Gross is a longtime Tribe member, and was in studio to explain the “strings attached” donation he is making to this year’s Toy Drive. (23:57)
