Incredibly fun weekend at The Connecticut Ice Hockey Tournament at Quinnipiac’s M&T Bank Arena! Connecticut’s four Division I college hockey schools battled each other for state bragging rights. In the end, it was the Quinnipiac Bobcats beating the UConn Huskies 4-3 to win the title for the second year in a row. Congrats Quinnipiac!

PODCAST – Monday, January 30: Steve Augeri; Hartford Plane Crash; Football Weekend Recap

Steve Augeri has some new music out, and was on with Chaz and AJ to talk about the project. First, he shared his story of joining Journey as their lead singer, the job he had while out of music for a short time, and the surprise guest that co-wrote a song with him for his latest album. (0:00)

Dick Knapinski is a plane and aviation expert, and joined Chaz and AJ this morning to talk about the accident in Hartford. Dick was as stunned and surprised as the rest of us that the pilot was OK following the crash. (7:13)

Dumb Ass News – After hearing about custom-built “kit” planes, Chaz and AJ got an email from a listener who lost their propeller, mid-flight! (19:54)

The Super Bowl is set, NFL Agent Joe Linta was on with his early prediction for the winner, and his thoughts on the Cincinnati Bengals player crying on the bench at the end of the game. (20:38)

Dumb Ass News – A Florida woman had to be rescued from a storm drain, after becoming trapped. This happened THREE times. (0:00)

Artificial intelligence programs are getting pretty good at writing things, including speeches for politicians. A representative read one to Congress recently, prompting Chaz and AJ to immediately call Steve Greenberg “The Gadget Guy” for more information about how prominent these programs will become in the future. Dumb Ass News – Chaz and AJ share with you their best (or worst?) flubbles of the week. Every time someone screws up their words, it goes into a file to share in the Friday montage. (25:02)

Dr. Wong was on with Chaz and AJ to talk about Ozempic, the drug for diabetic patients that has been in high demand. The demand, unfortunately, seems to come mostly from people who are not diabetic, because a side effect of the drug is weight loss. (11:08)
