Chaz and AJ welcomed Sgt. Luke Davis and Trooper Jisselis Garcia from the CT State Police in studio this morning. Recruitment is active, with salaries starting around $60,000. The Tribe called in their questions about background checks and smoking marijuana.

Wednesday, March 26: $9 Million Tree Fiasco, Mascot Pushed a 9-Year-Old, Danny Mac and Milford Veterans

Jeff Manville, the first selectman of Southbury, was on the phone with Chaz and AJ this morning to talk about the town’s lawsuit over trees. Allegedly, over 100 trees were illegally removed by a resident, and may owe around $9 million in fines. (0:00)

In Dumb Ass News, a mascot pushed a 9-year-old kid to the ground, and says the kid started the physical interaction. (15:39)

A KITT replica, from Knight Rider, was parked at the station parking this morning, as Miguel from Rad Stallions and Brad from CT Movie Cars were in studio with Chaz and AJ. The Tribe called in their favorite movie and TV cars, while AJ re-enacted his favorite scenes. (21:06)

Danny Mac, a local legend and former PLR street teamer, was in studio with Chaz and AJ this morning to talk about the Milford Veterans. Danny is also (most importantly) a Navy vet, and brought some other veterans in with him to talk about their time serving in Vietnam, and attending Woodstock. (31:13)

Gaylord Gauntlet 5K

The Gaylord Gauntlet is a 5k race with more than 20 man-made and natural obstacles. This year’s race is being held on Saturday, June 14th on the grounds of Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford.

All proceeds benefit the Gaylord Sports Association and its adaptive sports programs.

What is the Gaylord Gauntlet

Held entirely on the Gaylord Hospital campus which features 400 acres of land in a rural Wallingford setting. It is a blend of wooded trail and open field running with natural and man-made obstacles. Mud will be used sparingly, but upper body strength will be featured in some obstacles including a rock wall climb and vine swings.

Gaylord Sports Association provides adaptive sports for individuals with physical and visual disabilities, including wounded veterans. The Sports Association offers 15 different sports and is Connecticut’s largest adaptive sports program. Participants enjoy activities that are provided to them at low or no cost, such as golf, snow skiing, adaptive cycling, archery, water skiing, and adaptive rock climbing, or team sports such as wheelchair rugby, tennis, and sled hockey.

Chaz and AJ spoke with Tracy Vallerand, the biological mother of the Waterbury man held captive by his stepmother. Tracy had a lot to say about the treatment her son endured during his time in the house, and to all of the family members in the house.
