There is Community Tag Sale sponsored by the Recycling Committee the first Saturday of each month between April and October. To volunteer or to make a donation, call the Selectman’s Office at 203-393-2100 x100.

Recycling Facilities in Bethany
The Recycling Facilities are open Wednesdays 8 am to 6pm and Friday & Saturday 8 am to 4 pm. To find out where recycling facilities are in Bethany, call Public Works at 203-393-2100 X126 or 203-393-1555. Please note: A resident sticker is required in order to use the recycling facilities. What recycling materials are accepted?
Nowadays just about anything is recyclable. Items such as electronics, batteries, light bulbs and scrap metal can get recycled. To find out what materials are accepted at Bethany’s Recycling Facilities, visit www.bethany-ct.com .

What do I do with bulky waste?
Bulky waste like furniture, carpeting and other large non-recyclable, non-hazardous items is available Saturdays at the recycling center by appointment only. To make arrangements, contact Public Works at 203-393-2100 X126 or 203-393-1555. Note: to contractors, waste from large remodeling projects (such as roofing shingles, etc) may not be brought to the recycling center. You must get your own dumpster.

What do I do with hazardous waste?
Hazardous Waste such as paints, solvents and chemicals must be disposed of at HazWaste, Saturday mornings, at the Regional Water Authority building on Long Wharf Drive in New Haven. Open Saturday mornings from 9 am to 12 pm May through October only. Call the Office of the Board of Selectmen at 203-393-2100 x10 to verify times and dates.
