Today we decided to test the effects of alcohol on radio people. Our test subject - AJ.

Throughout the show today we had Sergeant John Jarvie from the West Haven Police Department in the house to monitor AJ's Blood Alcohol Level; and to administer some tests.

AJ took all of Sgt. Jarvie's tests before he started drinking and after so we could demonstrate how sloshed he was.

Here's a progress report...

  • By 2 beers AJ's speech was starting to slur just a little.
  • By 5 beers AJ had reached Connecticut's legally intoxicated Blood Alcohol Content level of .08.
  • By 7 beers AJ had trouble pronouncing words like weather and high.
  • By 9 beers AJ had turned into the classic "I love you man!" happy drunk.
  • By the time we were done AJ's Blood Alcohol Content level was .206 - almost 3 times the legal limit. He was well toasted.

If you missed the show you can LISTEN to the Audio Highlights!

Although we had fun listening to AJ make a fool of himself we actually did have an important message to get across. No matter what... DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE this holiday season. It's just not worth it.

Thanks to Sgt. Jarvie for coming in and sharing his expertise with us - not to mention keeping an eye on AJ!

Chaz is impressed that AJ has the ability to stand - considering he drank a 12-pack of beer in the early morning with no food in his stomach.

Chaz rolls his eyes as AJ says one more time "I love you man."
