The Problem

CT Department of Public Utility Control needed to get the word out about their website. The website explains to people about their option to pick who provides their electricity. This program is pretty new to CT residents and the department really needed to let the public know

The Process

After meeting with Brian Zullo from WPLR we started a brainstorming session where we came up with some out of the box ideas. We were looking at different WPLR events and how we can tie in to reach the most amount of targeted people. We would have never thought to be involved with a concert, Yale football, or a beach party.

The Plan

The department decided to be part of the Doors of the 21st Century Concert and Buried at the Beach with Chaz and AJ. We had custom logo trinkets to give out at both event as well as enter to win contest for energy efficient household appliances. Together with a few great out of the box ideas and the support of on air broadcasting we were definitely making a presents to the CT residents.

The Performance

By teaming up with WPLR and working together with our account manager we were able to see some great results from these different events. We have never been involved with any kind of events like these. Getting our website and name out to the CT residents by trying something new, we were able to double the hits on our website, educate residents in person, and start to grow a great email database.
